An elderly woman died after crashing her car into a utility pole in Canarsie on May 6, officials said.
Emergency responders found the 85-year-old unconscious in the driver’s seat — and a 90-year-old man in stable condition in the passenger’s seat — of wrecked a 2014 Buick at the end of E. 98th Street near Glenwood Road at 11:08 am, according to a police department spokeswoman.
Paramedics took both victims to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. Doctors there pronounced the woman dead and treated the man for minor injuries, police said.
Officials are still investigating the crash, police said.
