Nimble-footed elders Seymour Turkel and Klara Negrimovskaya dipped and twirled like human ribbons, sharing the dance floor with other snazzy seniors during a fall frolic at the Senior Citizens League of Flatbush on Sunday.
The elegant steppers came dressed for the occasion — billed as a “Grateful” revel — to have fun, deliver a true-blue Veteran’s Day salute to members who have fought in wars, and shower awards on staff who make the Ditmas Park senior center tick.
“It was a happy time!” said Program Director Vernelle Thompson, who received a plaque for keeping her members entertained and amused, courtesy of a calendar brimming with special events.
Production Manager George Will, a senior himself, was also among the honorees.
“It’s the first time that I ever won an award,” said the go-to guy, who wouldn’t disclose his age but said simply, “Let’s just say I won’t see 60 again!”
That clearly hasn’t hampered the busy bee from providing a jolly time for others!
