Doo Wop lovers sock-hopped over to Marine Park on Aug. 17 to be taken back in time for a few hours during a special concert featuring John Kuse and the Excellents.

Armed with beach chairs and lindy-hop dance moves, dozens grooved to the dulcet doo-wop tunes belted out by the band responsible for “Coney Island Baby” — Brooklyn’s unofficial anthem.

John Kuse and the Excellents’s visit to the Fillmore Avenue side of the park — the last concert to be held in Marine Park this summer — was hosted by state Sen. Marty Golden (R-Marine Park), who said he wanted his constituents to “get out of the house and enjoy some fun-filled evenings of entertainment.”

“This community is home to some of the greatest parks in the City of New York,” Golden said. “I host these events to give everyone a chance to grab their chair and blanket and head to the park.”

John Kuse belts out a neighborhood favorite as he and his band — the Excellents — perform.
