Transit police in Brooklyn are searching for the brute who ruthlessly attacked a senior at random on board an F train earlier this month, authorities said.
According to police, the victim, a 73-year-old man, was riding a Coney Island-bound F train approaching the York Street stop in DUMBO at around 9:45 a.m. on Feb. 13 when the unprovoked attack occurred.
Without saying a word, law enforcement sources said, an unknown rider approached and then punched the septuagenarian straphanger in the right side of his face, smashing his glasses.
The punch also caused the man to drop his cellphone — which the pugilistic perpetrator then quickly snatched. Following the attack, the suspect exited the train at the York Street station.
Police said that the senior victim suffered cheek swelling, a laceration, and pain but ultimately refused medical attention.
On Tuesday night, the NYPD released images of the suspect, who was last seen wearing a white hooded coat.
