Their names will not be forgotten, either.

The Fire Department added 13 names to the World Trade Center memorial wall at their Downtown headquarters last week in honor of the 13th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. The memorial honors department employees who died from illnesses stemming from their efforts at Ground Zero.

“These men and women were our mentors, our colleagues and friends,” said Daniel Nigro, Fire commissioner. “Each served with the utmost pride and distinction.”

The wall, dedicated in 2011, now includes 89 names. A Sept. 4 ceremony included the reading of the added names as family members of the deceased placed white roses at the base of the wall.

“Today we honor the service of these members and the sacrifices of their families,” department chief Edward Kilduff said. “They are important to the legacy of the FDNY.”

The names added were:

Firefighter Keith E. Atlas

Firefighter Willie T. Franklin, Jr.
