FDNY Mobile CPR unit offers free training

The FDNY Mobile CPR Training Unit will hold regularly scheduled free CPR classes the second Tuesday of every month at EMS Station 32, 347 Bond Street.

The first Tuesday through the fourth Tuesday and the fourth Thursday of every month there will be CPR training sessions. Training is free to anyone over the age of 14.

The goal of this program is increase the number of people in New York City trained in bystander CPR. Each class lasts one hour and participants in the class learn basic CPR skills from a member of the FDNY Emergency Medical Service.

Volunteers for the class follow along using the CPR Anytime Personal Learning Kit, which features an instructional DVD and an inflatable mannequin. All participants are able take home the kit at the end of class and asked to pledge to use the kit to show five of their family members and friends how to perform CPR. This class teaches basic CPR technique and is not a certification course.
