Festival for ‘all things bike’

The Spring Cycling Festival is coming to Brooklyn, March 19-21 at Ride Brooklyn, 468 Bergen Street in Fort Greene.

Join the Brooklyn bike community for a weekend dedicated to all things bike. Ride Brooklyn will host clinics and guest speakers to support commuters, racers and bicycle-loving families.

Kicking off the weekend, police from the 78th Precinct will be on hand to register bikes. On Saturday, the Bicycle Program Coordinator from the Department of Transportation will distribute maps and discuss important issues for bike commuters.

Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m., Ride Brooklyn will host a family ride through Prospect Park. Zigo bike representatives will be on hand with several Zigo Leader bikes for parents and their children to test ride. To reserve a Zigo bike, call Ride Brooklyn at 347-599-1340.

The weekend will be packed with nutrition, exercise and bike maintenance clinics. Representatives from the bicycle advocacy group, Transportation Alternatives will also be on hand during the weekend.
