The Steven Schneider Allstate Agency on Prospect Avenue and Reeve Place has been a real leader in helping to fight ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, with a special fundraiser, which donated $5 for every insurance quote given from May 1−June 19 to The ALS Association.
The agency also held a sports memorabilia raffle and, as a result, June 19 (Lou Gehrig’s birthday) was proclaimed ALS Awareness Day on Staten Island by Borough President James P. Molinaro, as the Schneider Agency presented a $3,200 check to ALS NY Chapter President Dorine Gordon.
Chris Scandaglia, a licensed account manager at the Schneider agency, created the fundraiser for ALS four years ago in memory of his grandfather Frank Gallinaro, who died of ALS in 1990. So far, the agency has raised $10,850 to help combat the disease.
