MediaRights, a not-for-profit organization,
holds its fourth annual "Media that Matters Film Festival"
on Tuesday, May 18, at 7 pm in the BAM Rose Cinemas (30 Lafayette
Ave. at Ashland Place in Fort Greene).

The one-night-only event includes more than a dozen short films
that encourage social action including "iThemba" (pictured),
a heartrending short about a South African choir, all of whose
members are HIV positive, who are asking the world for medication
to help them stave off death. Co-directed by Williamsburg filmmaker
Keefe Murren, "iThemba" won the Health Advocacy Award
sponsored by the Sundance Channel.

Festival tickets are $10. For more information call (718) 636-4100
or visit the Web site at www.mediarights.org. On May 20, viewers
will have another chance to view the fest selections online at
www.MediaThatMattersFest.org.
