Cyclones 5
Doubledays 2
Thursday, Aug. 12 at Auburn
The reeling Cyclone playoff train got back on track with a commanding victory upstate, thanks to a five-run seventh inning.
Joe Bonfe led off with a homer. Then, J.B. Brown tripled home Brian Harrison, who had walked. But the Clones weren’t done: After an error, Darrell Ceciliani doubled, and Jeff Flagg knocked in two runs with a single to end the barrage.
Starter A.J. Pinera was awesome, striking out 10 Doubledays in six innings, and yielding a sole unearned run.
Ceciliani, who is trying to be the first player in the New York–Penn League to hit .400, went 2-for-5, raising his average to .370.
The Cyclones increased their first-place lead to eight games.
