Firefighters knocked down a blaze that filled a Marine Park home full of dark, black smoke on May 17.
At 9:02 pm, firefighters responded to the house on E. 48th Street near Avenue O and found a fire on the first floor of the private dwelling. They extinguished the flame in around 30 minutes, according to a fire department spokesman.
“It was under control at 9:35 pm,” he said.
Sixty-five firefighters showed up to the scene, and one person was brought to Kings County Hospital with minor injuries.
The spokesman could not say what the damage to the house was, nor the cause, as of May 18.
“It’s under investigation,” he said.
