Cruise to Prospect Park tonight to catch a free Celebrate Brooklyn! concert from the Breeders. The alternative band, which includes former Pixies bassist Kim Deal, is still best known for its 1993 hit “Cannonball,” but is touring with a new album of hot tunes “All Nerve.” Speedy Ortiz opens.

Work it

Red Hook arts collective Pioneer Works opens the doors for its Second Sunday program, featuring open studios, a display of inflatable robots, a virtual reality tour of the Great Barrier Reef, and a discussion and performance from multimedia artist and rapper Abdul Ali.

Gimme Moor

One of the more traditional plays in the Brick’s “Shakespeare in the Theater” festival is its production of “Othello,” which keeps the original text, but uses race- and gender-swapped casting, so Othello is played by a white woman, Desdemona by a black man, and puts black women in most of the major roles. The show debuts tonight.

Baring their souls

For another classic theater show with a twist, catch the Torn Out Theater production of “The Rover” in Prospect Park, for which a co-ed group of actors will strip down to their birthday suits to present a 17th-century play about sexy shenanigans among masked strangers.
