The Brooklyn House of Detention Stakeholders invite members of the community to attend an open forum to discuss the future of the Brooklyn Jail on May 29 at 7 p.m. at the Belarusian Church, Atlantic Avenue and Bond Street.
The Department of Corrections and the City of New York have plans to reopen the jail and double the inmate population, without including the community involvement in the process.
Find out what you can do and what the options are at the open forum meeting.
This event is organized by The Brooklyn House of Detention Stakeholders; 53 Boerum Place Board of Managers; Atlantic Avenue Betterment Association; Atlantic Avenue LDC; Boerum Hill Association; Brooklyn Vision Foundation, Inc; Cobble Hill Association and State Street Association.
