Fourth flame-out: Cyclones burned by IronBird’s bat

Aberdeen outfielder Hector Veloz blasted homers in the second and fourth innings, driving in four runs, to leading the IronBirds to a 5–1 Fourth of July trouncing of the Cyclones.

Veloz hit a solo home run to left in the second inning off Brooklyn pitcher Seth Lugo to score the first run of the game, and in his next at bat hit a three-run homer that gave the Birds a 4–0 lead.

The Cyclones lone run came in the fifth, when the Clones’ catcher Tomas Nido hit an RBI double to left field to allow James “Papa” Roche to score.

The Cyclones will try to end the losing streak to the IronBirds in tonight’s game at 7:05 pm in Maryland.
