The Wildlife Conservation Society’s (WCS) New York Aquarium is now offering free admission every Friday from 3 p.m. until closing.
Wildlife Conservation Society Director for the New York Aquarium, Jon Forrest Dohlin, has made a point to revitalize and expand community outreach, and one important change to meet that goal is the introduction of free access on Friday afternoons.
By expanding the aquarium’s outreach efforts in this meaningful way, the aquarium will fulfill its educational and conservation missions. In addition to providing a valuable service to the community, it is anticipated to increase exposure that will help grow attendance from within underserved communities that might not otherwise be able to visit the New York Aquarium.
The New York Aquarium provides an entertaining and educational experience for the whole family. Friendly walruses, amazing sand tiger sharks, amazing jellyfish, playful sea otters, and spectacular sea lions are among the hundreds of species of the more than 8,000 animals that welcome visitors every day of the year.
A Wildlife Conservation Society park, the New York Aquarium, opens every day of the year at 10 a.m. with seasonal closing times. Admission is $12 for adults, and $9 for children ages 3-12 and $10 for senior citizens (65 and older); children under 3 years of age are admitted free.
