This Friday the 13th is a little extra spooky, with Halloween right around the corner and festive activities already in full swing all around the borough. Here are eight Halloween-themed events taking place in Brooklyn this month!

Spooky Movie Night at the Coney Island Brewery

Do you like scary movies? If so you’ll SCREAM when you hear that the Coney Island Brewery is hosting a spooky movie night! Bring a few friends and enjoy a scary flick as you enjoy some beer and snacks. If you’d like a chilling night out, this event is perfect for you!

Mommy and Me Get Spooky With Cooking!

Want to celebrate Halloween with a little one and pick up a new recipe at the same time? Well look no further than this Halloween-inspired mommy and me cooking class! This fun and unique event is hosted by Speakitaly NYC Brooklyn and will teach you and your toddler how to cook an Italian favorite: meatballs!

Beware the BOP! – An LGBTQIA+ Halloween Costume Party & Masked Ball

Get ready for a spine-tingling extravaganza as CAMBA’s BOP program presents its legendary Halloween Bash! This year enjoy “Beware the BOP” – a spectacular  LGBTQIA+ friendly event that’s not to be missed. The Brooklyn Outreach and Prevention team is rolling out the crimson carpet for an unforgettable Masked Ball that welcomes all – ghouls, ghosts, and goblins, too!

Ride a Haunted Carousel in Prospect Park

Want to feel like the Headless Horseman astride his ghostly steed? Well now you can with a Haunted Carousel ride in Prospect Park! Decorated with festive decorations, take a turn on the carousel for a spooky season activity perfect for the kiddos

The Great PUPkin Dog Costume Contest

It’s the Great PUPkin! Fort Greene’s annual dog costume contest is back — head out to see dozens of local dogs dressed in their Halloween best. Three pups will win prizes for the best costumes, and a great time will be had by all!

Oct. 28. 12 p.m. Free. Fort Greene Park at DeKalb Avenue and South Portland Avenue in Fort Greene. 

Halloweekend Fun with IKEA

Ready to celebrate Halloween with ghosts, witches, candy, and…IKEA? The popular build-your-own furniture brand’s Brooklyn location is hosting a fun Halloween celebration complete with a costume contest and prizes including a $50 IKEA Gift Card! Please note, you must be an IKEA Family member to enter this exclusive contest, and each member gets a single shot at this exciting prize.
