Police arrested a fugitive after a dramatic car chase in Downtown Brooklyn on Wednesday morning.

Cops spotted the 40-year-old man, who they allege is a suspect in an assault case in the Bronx, in a white pickup truck on Atlantic Avenue, between Buffalo Avenue and Suydam Place in Bedford-Stuyvesant, around 11:35 am, according to a Police Department spokesman.

When the Boys in Blue approached the man, he sped off, leading authorities on a high-speed chase heading toward America’s Downtown, which continued onto the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, according to the authorities.

Police eventually stopped the fugitive on the highway near the Brooklyn Heights Promenade triple cantilever, where they stopped him and took him into custody, the spokesman said.

Official charges are pending further investigation, authorities said.
