On most days, Prospect Heights boutique Harriet’s Alter Ego wears two hats — store and art gallery — but on Saturday, the shop will be wearing (and selling) just a few more.

Kicking off another installment of “Backyard Couture,” a summer-long series of events, the shop will celebrate with a sidewalk concert, a backyard barbecue, shopping and free drinks.

“It’s the summer, and we have this garden in the back that we’re always wanting to hang out in,” said owner Ngozi Odita. “So it’s a way to enjoy the space and get other people back there as well. [Customers] normally come into the store, shop and leave, but in the summer, we get to utilize that space and do really fun stuff.”

The six-hour event — replete with DJ — will culminate in a one-of-a-kind women’s couture auction, with pieces from designers like Born As A Raggamuffin, JunkPrints and National Society of Soul, starting at only $30.

“It’s just a way to hang out and enjoy the outdoors,” said Odita. “But with shopping.”

“Backyard Couture” will take place from 5 pm to 11 pm on June 21 at Harriet’s Alter Ego (293 Flatbush Ave. at Prospect Place in Prospect Heights). Free. For information, call (718) 783-2074 or visit www.harrietsalteregoonline.com.
