Going for a spin! Clones sweep Lowell

Cyclones 4

Lowell 1

July 29 in Lowell

Casey Meisner threw five innings of three-hit ball to lead the Cyclones over the Spinnners, completing a three-game sweep.

The Cyclones took the lead in the third, plating Tomas Nido on an Anthony Chavez single, and Chavez on a Joe Tuschak double.

The Spinners responded in the bottom of the inning when a two–out double plated the team’s only run of the game.

But the Clones tacked on two more rune in the sixth when Tuschak and Michael Conforto worked a pair of walks, Michael Bernal singled to score Tuschak, and Tyler Moore singled to score Conforto.

Meisner allowed one run while striking out six, and three relief pitchers held the Spinners the rest of the way, with Shane Bay earning his ninth save.

The Cyclones return home for a six-game stretch starting on Wednesday against the Auburn Doubledays.
