Thieves swiped jewelry from a W. Third Street home while the owner was on vacation.

The victim told cops that she left for vacation on Dec. 23. When she returned to her house between Highlawn Avenue and Quentin Road on Jan. 10, she found that her jewelry box was moved, and several valuables were missing.

The owner said that contractors were painting her home while she was away.

Dental damn!

A thief swiped a laptop from an 86th Street dentist’s office on Jan. 9.

Employees at the office, which is between Bay 31st and Bay 32nd streets, told cops that they noticed the $3,000 Dell laptop, which is used for X-rays, was missing at 5:30 pm.

Off the map

Thieves busted into a car parked on Lake Street on Jan. 11, making off with the navigation system.

The victim told cops that he parked the car between Avenues S and T at 1 am. When he retured at 9:30 the next morning, he found his driver-side door busted, and the inboard navigation system and radio missing.

Chop shop

A thief swiped $65 from a purse while its owner was shopping at a Bay Parkway Toys “R” Us on Jan. 11.

The victim told cops that she was shopping at the toy behemoth near Shore Parkway at 2:45 pm when she looked in her purse and noticed her cash was missing.

Steeler’s wheel

Wheel bandits gave a rim job to a car parked on W. Ninth Street on Jan. 10.

The victim told cops that he parked his new Nissan Maxima between Avenues O and P at 1 am. When he returned the next morning, he found his car wheel-less.

Car jack

Thieves made off with a 10-year-old Nissan parked on Bay 16th Street on Jan. 11.

The victim told cops that he left his pride and joy parked near Benson Avenue at 7:30 pm. When he returned at 9 am the next day, he found his ride gone.
