Gowanus man arrested for allegedly having sex with, beating teen girl

Cops busted a 49-year-old Gowanus man who allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old girl — twice — and beat her at his 14th Street home last year.

The teen told police she met the suspect 32 years her senior at his home between Second and Third avenues on July 15 and Aug. 30, 2017, and he engaged in intercourse with her on both occasions. The legal age of consent in New York is 17-years-old, according to state law.

The man smacked the victim in the face during their second rendezvous, officials said, before threatening further violence.

Authorities arrested the suspect on Feb. 16, and prosecutors on Tuesday charged him with assault, third-degree rape, sexual abuse and misconduct, and endangering the welfare of a child before a Criminal Court judge, who set bail at $10,000 cash or $15,000 bond, according to a spokeswoman for District Attorney Eric Gonzalez.
