Ave. M menace
An unhinged 22-year-old man arrested on Dec. 5 following a botched robbery inside an Avenue M grocery.
Police were told that the would-be thief entered the store, which is between E. 18th and E. 19th streets, at 10 pm, demanding that a worker empty the cash register for him.
But the employee refused, sending the fuming thief outside.
Seconds later, the thug got his revenge: He chucked a milk crate at the store’s glass window, causing the glass to break. Cops caught up with him a short time later, charging him with criminal mischief.
A sticky-fingered thief was arrested on Dec. 5 — right in the middle of the suspect’s shoplifting spree at the Flatbush Avenue junction.
Police said that the thief entered a men’s clothing store near Avenue H at 12:17 pm, removing a jacket. He then left the clothing store and went into a nearby Rite Aid, taking two large bundles of Bounty paper towels.
The thief was nabbed as he tried to subtly walk out of the Rite Aid and was charged with petit larceny.
A jilted knife-wielding 26-year-old was arrested last week after damaging his girlfriend’s car during a scuffle on Avenue U.
The victim told police that she and her boyfriend were arguing between E. 19th Street and Ocean Avenue at 6:14 pm.
When she got into her car to leave, she heard something striking the vehicle — and shortly received a text message about the cause.
“Your taillight’s broken, bitch,” the text from her boyfriend read.
The young woman called police, who found a gravity knife on the 26-year-old when they questioned him.
A boozed-up motorist was arrested on Brooklyn Avenue in Flatlands on Nov. 30 after he steered his Toyota into seven parked cars.
Police said that the 40-year-old drunk driver was found asleep in his car, which was idling near Avenue J, at 4:25 am.
But the damage was already done — seven times over — said police, who charged the motorist with drunk driving.
Bus brute busted
An 18-year-old was arrested this week for a robbery on a B 46 bus rolling down Utica Avenue on Oct. 25.
Police said that the thug got on the bus at Avenue J at 5:15 pm, approached his 13-year-old victim and pulled up his shirt, revealing the gun he had tucked in his waistline.
He then grabbed his victim’s watch, and cellphone, before disembarking the bus.
Cops caught up with the teen on Dec. 5, charging him with robbery in the first degree.
A Flatlands man was arrested on Dec. 3 after he threatened a roommate with a knife inside their Albany Avenue apartment.
Police said that the two men were arguing in the apartment, which is between Avenues H and I, at 11:45 am when the 22-year-old pulled a knife and began swinging it around.
He reportedly chased his roommate into the man’s bedroom, damaging the lock to the door during his rampage.
Cops charged him with menacing and criminal mischief.
Four on one
A criminal quartet jumped a 17-year-old on Ocean Avenue on Nov. 25, taking his cellphone.
The fearsome foursome approached the victim as he neared Avenue T at 11:22 pm, police were told.
“Do you have any money,” one of the thieves asked. “If you lie, I’ll shoot you.”
The only thing the teen had was his cellphone, which the thieves ran off with.
A thief tried to break into an Avenue M home on Nov. 17, but found removing an air conditioner from a window more of a chore than he first thought.
The homeowner told police that the thief damaged the frame to the window as he tried to move the air conditioner during the 11:50 am heist — but didn’t accomplish much else.
