Gun + knife = mugging!

Terrifying mug

Two armed bandits brutally beat a victim and took his wallet on 12th Avenue on July 24.

The victim was at the corner of 64th Street at 11 pm when two men approached him — one brandishing that most persuasive of objects, a pistol.

The other, not to be outdone, wielded a knife and told the man, “Give me your money or I will kill you” in Spanish.

He then beat the victim over the head with the knife.

The victim tried to run, but the two men caught him, beat him some more and stole his wallet, netting $30.

4 men, 1 handbag

Three hoods snatched a handbag from another man early on July 31 near Leif Ericson Park.

The victim was on 67th Street between Eighth and Ninth avenues at 2:15 am when three men snatched the bag, which held $170.

Cat burglar

A soft-shoed sneak snatched electronics from an Ovington Avenue apartment overnight on July 30.

The victim left his apartment, which is between 13th and 14th avenues, at 7:30 pm and returned at 6:05 am the next day to find his apartment and bedroom doors open and his TV, iPhone, computer and monitor gone. The police found no sign of forced entry.

Bad habit

A crook in need of a nicotine fix snatched cartons of smokes from a Rite Aid just past noon on July 26.

The thief broke into the office of the pharmacy, which is on 13th Avenue near 70th Street, took the manager’s wallet from her purse and ducked out with an unknown number of emphysema-causing death sticks.

Can you rob me now?

A three-man team of robbers lifted cellular phones from the T-Mobile store on 86th Street on July 17.

The squad of bad guys entered at around 12:15 pm, and one started distracting the clerk with inquiries. Meanwhile, his partners pocketed the pilfered phones.

The store, which is between Fourth and Fifth avenues, said it lost $1,250 in equipment.
