Two men, one with a firearm, robbed a woman on Pacific Street early on April 25.
The pair sneaked up behind the victim at around 12:30 am between Clinton and Court streets. One showed off the gun, while the other went through her bag, taking her purse and cellphone.
To seal the deal, the thugs blew kisses at her as they fled.
Calling card
An 11-year-old boy was mugged by a boy not much older than himself on Warren Street on April 17, but police, recognizing the delinquent’s description, quickly made an arrest.
The victim told police he gave his cellular phone to a 14-year-old boy who menaced him with a knife near the corner of Clinton Street at 6 pm.
But the troublemaker has struck too often in the neighborhood. According to police, an officer, hearing the physical description and MO, headed to a recidivist youngster’s hangout, found the stolen cellphone and arrested the repeat offender.
Unmasked man
A man brazenly reached over a gate at a Smith Street restaurant and stole a woman’s purse in plain sight of the victim and her friend on April 22, yet neither woman got a good look at him.
It wasn’t too long before police found a man with her purse on Hoyt Street at 10 pm.
The pocketbook was returned to its rightful owner, but because the lady wasn’t positive it was the same man who had interrupted her dinner, he was not arrested.
