Broken window theory

Someone shattered a car’s window on Willoughby Avenue on Feb. 18 and stole the owner’s belongings contents.

The 26-year-old victim told cops she parked her car between Hall Street and Washington Avenue at 9 am, returning a half-hour later to find her window broken and her iPhone and wallet removed.

A crafty thief stole the contents of a woman’s pocket as she rode the bus on Lafayette Avenue on Feb. 19.

The 49-year-old woman told cops she was riding the bus at Washington Avenue at 5 pm and noticed that someone had taken her wallet from her pocket. When she confronted the person she suspected of the crime, the man hopped off the bus and ran into a train station, she told cops.

Distract and steal

A sneaky bandit took a woman’s wallet while she was at work inside a store on Greene Avenue on Feb. 22.

The 25-year-old victim told cops the crook entered the business between Grand Avenue and Cambridge Place at 6:30 pm and pretended to want to make a purchase. When she turned her back 15 minutes later, he stole her wallet and iPhone from her purse, she told police.
