A trio of armed men invaded a woman’s Ten Eyck Street home, tied her up, and robbed her on May 17, police said.
The woman told police that she was in her apartment between Humboldt Street and Bushwick Avenue at 7:40 pm when the three brutes came down the building stairs as she was opening the door to her apartment and forced their way in, then dragged her into the living room.
“Where’s the money?” they supposedly demanded. “Where’s the drugs?”
The terrifying threesome zip-tied the woman’s hands together and one punched her in the head and pointed a gun at her chest while the others ransacked her apartment, according to law enforcement officials. They got away with an iPad, gold rings, gold bracelets, gold chains, and a Nokia cellphone, cops stated. When the goons fled the apartment, they warned the woman not to call police, officers said.
The old Con Ed con
A schemer tried getting money from a Bedford Avenue business on May 17 by claiming to work for Con Edison but was foiled by the quick-thinking owner, police stated.
The chiseler called the establishment between S. Third and S. Fourth streets at 6:03 pm and told the proprietor that the business owed $1,400 to the utility company and had to pay within the next two hours or the gas would be shut off, according to the authorities.
The 40-year-old owner did not pay up and instead called the actual gas company to confirm that he owed the amount, officials said. The company told him he had no such debt, according to a report.
Smash and lap
A burglar broke into a woman’s car parked on River Street on May 18 and stole her laptop from her backseat, cops said.
The woman reported that she parked her car at Metropolitan Avenue at 5:30 pm and, when she came back at 10:45 pm that same night, she found the rear passenger-side window of her 2013 Volkswagen smashed and her computer and travel bag missing.
A bandit broke into a business on Grand Street on May 17 and stole an Xbox 360, officers said.
The owner said that the scoundrel broke into his business between Havemeyer Street and Marcy Avenue sometime between 4:30 am and 7 am. The thief smashed the front door with a brick and snatched the video-game console, police stated.
A punk snatched a woman’s purse as she was waiting for the bus on Lorimer Street on May 16, police reported.
The 61-year-old victim told police that she was waiting for the B 48 bus at Broadway at 9:50 pm when the fiend grabbed her handbag off the bench and skedaddled down Broadway.
A threatening threesome tried to rob a teenager of his phone as he was walking home from school on Bushwick Avenue on May 14, law enforcement officials said.
The 17-year-old victim said he was in back of a public housing project at the corner of Flushing Avenue at 2 pm when three villains walked up to him and demanded he fork over his mobile device.
One of the bandits threatened to shoot him while another tried to reach into his pocket to grab the gadget, but missed, according to a report. The trio then ran off empty-handed, cops said.
