Roll-by robbery
A thug pulled a gun on a 19-year-old woman on Flatbush Avenue on Aug. 21, taking her cellphone.
The victim was nearing Avenue P at 10:20 pm when the thief ran up to her, flashed his weapon and ran off with her phone to an awaiting getaway car.
Bank blues
A note-passing bandit took more than $3,500 from an Avenue U bank after slipping a threatening missive to the teller.
Workers at the bank, which is near E. 65th Street, told police that the thief entered the bank at 5:50 pm and then handed over a note reading, “Give me $100 and $50 in bills or I will shoot everyone dead.”
The teller followed the instructions, giving the thief everything in her cash drawer.
Choked and robbed
A thug jumped a young woman on Farragut Road on Aug. 27, stealing her cellphone.
The victim was nearing E. 59th Street at 4:20 am when the suspect, a male in his early 20s, grabbed her by the neck and choked her until she gave up her property.
Cellphone steal
A thief with his hand in his pants held up a 39-year-old on Flatlands Avenue on Aug. 21 — running off with a cellphone.
The victim was approaching Troy Avenue at 8:30 pm when the suspect raced over with his hand in his waistband as if he had a gun.
“Give me the phone,” the thief screamed before running off with the communication device.
More cellphone swipes
Three thugs jumped a 16-year-old teen on E. 57th Street on Aug. 28, taking his cellphone.
The victim was nearing Avenue I at 4:25 pm — just hours after Hurricane Irene blew through the borough — when the suspects attacked.
Rooftop dining
Thieves descended into an Avenue N restaurant on Aug. 27 after breaking into a rooftop apartment.
Workers at Pastosa said that the thief made their way into an empty apartment above their store sometime after 5 pm, then made their way downstairs, taking $11,000.
Home raid
A thief raided an E. 57th Street home on Aug. 28 — and was then seen exiting the house and fleeing in a black Acura.
Neighbors said they saw the thief empty the home to his awaiting getaway car at 1:10 pm. It remained unclear just what had been taken from the home near Avenue O.
Dryer devil
A thief walked into an Avenue U laundromat on Aug. 23 and swiped a bunch of clothes rumbling around in a coin dryer.
A 60-year-old woman told police that she had put an assortment of shirts and other items into the dryer at the laundry near Stuart Street at 7:30 am and went to a nearby store to buy something.
She returned a short time later only to learn that someone had helped himself to her clothes — then made a clean getaway.
