Brooklyn’s new professional hockey team, the Aces, will be hosting a special fundraising night to benefit the Brooklyn Regional Office of the American Cancer Society on January 17th, 2009.
At the January home game, the Aces will hit the ice in pink jerseys to raise cancer awareness and show their support for local patients and their families.
The jerseys will then be auctioned off, with winning fans receiving their jerseys that night in a personal meeting and autograph session with the Aces players. Fans will also have a chance to bid on an autographed Wayne Gretzky hockey stick, as well as to come out onto the ice to Take A Shot at winning Aces merchandise.
Proceeds from the fundraising activity, together with a portion of ticket sales from the night’s game, will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
The January home game takes place at Aviator Sports and Recreation Complex at 7:30 pm.
The Aces will also host a benefit hockey clinic on January 17th. The clinic is open to adults and children; the $40 fee includes a ticket to that night’s game.
Come out for a great night of family fun and help us Take a Shot Against Cancer. Please wear pink to show your support!
