High school football roundup: Harris powers Fort Hamilton to second straight win

Poly Prep eyes big season on gridiron

Fort Hamilton has already exceeded its win total from a year ago.

The Tigers squad, which suffered through an injury-plagued 2012, is still perfect this season after a 28–0 home win over John Adams in Public School Athletic League City Conference football on Sunday. Fort Hamilton won just two games last year.

Sharif Harris went 13-for-20 passing for 157 yards and had a touchdown pass to Devon Watts for Fort Hamilton (2–0). He also ran for 61 yards and a score. Adrian Maldonado added a rushing score and Kevin Ferguson picked up a sack. The Tigers will look to move to 3–0 and host Curtis on Sept. 21.

Abraham Lincoln 44, Sheepshead Bay 8: Javon Moore completed 11 of 13 passes for 203 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for a score for Lincoln (2–0). Antoine Holloman rushed for 116 yards on six carries and a score, and also caught a touchdown pass. Malik Andrews and Michael Tud both added receiving scores. Thomas Holley an Alejandro both recorded two sacks.

New Dorp 32, Midwood 16: Brandon French rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown on five carries and Shemar Joseph added a 15 yard score on the ground for Midwood (1–1). Darryl Robinson and Wesley Joseph both had interceptions. New Dorp is (1–1).

South Shore 22, Franklin D. Roosevelt 0: Darrius Nichols completed 3 of 8 passes for 64 yards and a touchdown for South Shore (2–0). Omar Jarrett carried the ball four times for 23 yards and two scores, and Equan Yunus rushed for 113 yards on nine carries. Dupreme Robinson made 14 tackles and recovered a fumble. Franklin D. Roosevelt is 1–1.

Tilden 36, Grady 22: Royston Bacchus completed 7 of 12 for 134 yards and touchdowns to Dwayne Charles, Joseph Bacchus and Nathan John for Tilden (1–1). Kenroy Kerr carried the ball 11 times for 62 yards and a touchdown. Grady is 0–2.

August Martin 22, Lafayette 18: Quarterback Nasir Thompson carried the ball 10 times for 113 yards and two touchdowns and also threw for a score for Lafayette (0–2). Mark Wallace caught a 31-yard touchdown pass. August Martin is 1–1.

Bayside 37, Madison 6: Daniel Martinez completed 6 of 13 passes for 111 yards and ran for a 1-yard touchdown for Madison (1–1). Keenan Sylvester carried the ball 15 times for 51 yards. Bayside is (2–0).

Poly Prep 37, Peddie School 15: Chris Parker rushed for touchdowns of 27, 15 and 35 yards for Poly Prep (3–0). Brendan Femiano added scores for 9 and 6 yards.
