Adolescent crooks mugged at least two Williamsburgers at the Lorimer Street J-train stop on July 22 — and the high-wheel turnstile seems to be one of the villains here.
In the first incident, five teenaged hoodlums pummeled a 28-year-old woman in the station and stole her copy of an acclaimed French New Wave film at around 12:35 am.
The young crooks followed their victim as she walked to the station, which is at the corner of Broadway and Lorimer Street, but when she reached the stairs, two of them rushed past her through the high-wheel turnstile.
When the victim swiped her card, the thugs who had entered the station pounced, punching her on both sides of the face and knocking her to the ground.
“B—h, don’t get up,” one of the teenaged villains said, as he grabbed her handbag.
The assailants fled the station and ran down Broadway, escaping with the victim’s cellphone, credit card, IDs, $60, and her DVD of Jean-Luc Godard’s “Breathless.”
Just six hours later, four teenaged crooks attempted an elaborate mugging in the same station — but cops nabbed a 13-year-old suspect.
The hoods attacked a 54-year-old man as moved through the high-wheel entrance, grabbing the bars and trapping him in the turnstile.
With their victim confined, the crooks punched the man and tried to pilfer his pockets, but he withstood their blows and refused to fork over his property.
Eventually, the crooks fled to street level, where cops were able to nab a pint-sized suspect.
