A phone’s throw
A hooligan threw a phone and injured a woman in order to steal her purse on Manhattan Avenue on Jan. 9.
The woman was following the perp, watching him remove contents from someone else’s purse in a separate theft outside a bar near Montrose Avenue at about 2 am. The jerk noticed her, threw a cellphone from the purse and hit her in the face, then ran up and took her purse before fleeing.
Coffee fiend
A hoodlum armed with a knife held up a coffee delivery man, then stole about $600 from him at the intersection of Ten Eyck and Lorimer streets on Jan. 8.
The driver of a Dallas Coffee truck was making a delivery outside at about 1 pm when the man came up from behind and whispered, “Don’t get cut.” The victim didn’t turn around, and the thug made off with cash.
