Holocaust memorial

Misty eyes accompanied the remembrance of one of history’s darkest periods during a Holocaust commemoration at Temple Beth Abraham.

The poignant April 11 Yom Hashoah featured sobering accounts from survivors, which elicited tears from the congregation, many of whom were second- and third-generation relatives.

The group participated in a candle-lighting ceremony to hail the memory of the dead and joined voices for the Kaddish.

The synagogue is located on Seabreeze Avenue between West Fifth and West Second streets in Coney Island.
