Car-tastrophe
Armed robbers held up an Atlantic Avenue auto shop and beat the employee who had the misfortune of encountering the quartet at around 8 am on Dec. 22.
First posing as legitimate customers at the shop between Grand and Classon avenues, one crook unveiled a revolver and asked the clerk if he had the keys to the store safe while another bandit showed off a semiautomatic gun. Next, the man with a revolver pistol-whipped the worker, who eventually opened the safe and handed over $8,681.
Bad girls club
Three teenage girls assaulted and mugged a woman entering the subway on Fulton Street on Dec. 22.
One of the teens deceived the 27-year-old victim at 6:22 pm by asking her for the time. When the woman glanced at her Blackberry, the scheming adolescent snatched it from her hand near the turnstile to the C-train at South Portland Avenue.
The woman tried to get it back, but one of the other bad gals hit her in the head several times, which enabled the first girl to also yank away the woman’s bag.
St. Edwards fire
A man was shot twice in both legs on St. Edwards Street on Dec. 22, but his uncooperative attitude hindered the police investigation of the shooting.
The 18-year-old victim was taken Kings County Hospital at 6:35 pm, but did not provide police with any information on the gunman or the events preceding the incident between Park and Myrtle avenues.
Sneak attack
Two teens mugged a couple on Adelphi Street on Dec. 26.
The 31-year-old man and 33-year-old woman told police that two young punks sneaked up behind them near Dekalb Avenue, grabbed the man and said “Give me what you have.” The pair gave up $50 and an assortment of credit and banking cards.
Unchained thievery
An Atlantic Avenue jeweler was burglarized overnight on Dec. 27.
The jewelry, which is inside the Atlantic Center shopping plaza, reported losing more than 100 14-karat gold chains and one 14-karat gold ring while the store was closed from 8 pm until 11:30 the next morning.
Re-gifting
A thief broke into a car parked near the corner of Lafayette Avenue and South Oxford Street on Christmas Eve and stole the holiday gifts.
The driver said he left the car from 12:15 to 12:45 pm, when he returned to find that someone had stolen two suits, a Nike jacket, a pair of Nike sneakers, a jogging suit, a pocketbook and $45.
Watch out
A man suspects that one of the contractors brought into his Myrtle Avenue apartment by his landlord on Dec. 26 stole his designer watch.
The 40-year-old resident of the flat between Vanderbilt and Clermont avenues said he was not home from 2 to 6 pm while the workers were inside his home. When he returned, his Christian Dior timekeeper was missing from the place where he keeps it.
