Movie madness
Two moviegoers at the UA Court Street had their experiences ruined last week in separate incidents. Here’s a round-up:
• A thief snatched a woman’s purse on Feb. 14. The victim told cops that she had mistakenly left her bag in the theater, which is between Schermerhorn and State streets, at around 5:45 pm. When she returned minutes later, the purse was long gone. She lost a fancy handbag and wallet, along with $80 and IDs.
• Two thugs swiped a woman’s Blackberry at the same theater three days later. The woman told cops that she was leaving a movie at around 4:30 pm when the pair of thieves bumped her in the crowded lobby, swiping her phone.
Chanel snatcher
A style-craving thief grabbed a woman’s $5,000 diamond-encrusted Chanel watch from an Equinox Gym locker on Court Street on Feb. 11.
The victim said that the crime must have occurred at around 2 pm, while she was working out in the facility, which is near Joralemon Street. The thief also grabbed her iPhone and wallet.
Phone thief
Two iPhones were snatched last week, and one robbery attempt appears to be related. Here are the gory details:
• A thug mugged a woman for her iPhone on Joralemon Street between Columbia Place and Furman Street on Feb. 19. The 35-year-old victim told the boys in blue that a thug approached her from behind at around 10 pm, jabbed something in her back and said, “Give me your phone or I will shoot you.” The victim complied, and the bandit vanished into the night.
• That same night, a thief attempted to steal another woman’s phone on Henry Street using the same tactic. The victim told cops that she was near Remsen Street at around 8:35 pm when a thief approached from behind and said the same threatening words, “Give me your phone or I will shoot you!”
This time, the victim took of running, and the thief ended up empty handed.
• Three thieves snatched a woman’s iPhone at gunpoint on St. Marks Place on Feb. 21. The victim told cops that she was between Third and Fourth avenues at around 9 pm when the three thugs approached. One asked for the time, and when she removed her iPhone to check, another snatched the much-desired mobile device. The victim tried to snatch the phone back, but one of the thugs subsequently produced a silver handgun and ended the little dance.
Ladron en Tio Pio
A thief pilfered a woman’s purse at the Willoughby Street restaurant Tio Pio on Feb. 19.
The victim told cops that she had stood up to pay her bill at the eatery between Bridge and Lawrence streets at around 9:30 am when she placed her purse inside a shopping bag.
Minutes later, she realized her purse was gone.
Bus beat down
An irate passenger on the B62 bus went berserk on Feb. 18, punching the bus driver after missing his stop and getting himself quickly arrested.
The shaken driver told cops that the passenger lost his cool near Sands and Gold streets at around 1:45 pm.
“I want to get off!” the passenger yelled. The driver then attempted to let him off at the next stop, but the perp flipped out and punched the driver in the pelvis.
Officer Safi Troyann slapped the cuffs on the 37-year-old brute.

Au Bon thief
A thief swiped a woman’s wallet at the Au Bon Pain in the Metrotech complex on Feb. 16.
The hungry victim told cops that she was buying her breakfast at around 8:30 am at the eatery on the Myrtle Avenue pedestrian walkway when she glanced away from her wallet — which was on a serving tray — for mere seconds.
But in those few moments, the thief struck. She lost $80 and an assortment of credit cards.
Menace at Macy’s
A thief swiped woman’s wallet from her purse at the Macy’s on the Fulton Mall while she tried on a jacket on Feb. 15.
The victim told cops that she left her purse unattended for a few moments on a coat rack at the department store between Lawrence and Bridge streets at around 1:20 pm. When she returned her attention to the bag, she noticed that it was open and her wallet was missing. She lost an assortment of credit cards and IDs.
Rowd-io shack
Two thugs stole four cameras from the Court Street Radio Shack on Feb. 15, and beat down the employee on duty in the process.
The victim told cops that he was working at the electronics store, which is between State Street and Atlantic Avenue, at around 9 pm when he noticed the troublemakers removing the digital cameras from a display area. The employee then bravely grabbed one of the perps, but was kicked for his attempt.
The victim said that his pants were sliced, too — a sign that he narrowly avoided a more serious injury.
The two brigands fled toward Atlantic Avenue with the cameras valued at around $800.
Car-jacked
A thief jacked a car parked on State Street on Feb. 19.
The owner of the 1993 Nissan Sentra told cops that she had parked her car between Third and Flatbush avenues at around 10 pm.
When she returned, about an hour later, it was gone.
