Hot ‘Corner’! Beloved diner really is just doing renovations!
There’s something going on on Seventh Avenue, where several longtime shops are either being renovated or going out of business — and loyalists hope it’s only the former at the Grecian Corner.

Bucking the trend of so many Mom and Pop diners in the city, the owners of the beloved Grecian Corner on Seventh Avenue say they really are just renovating.

Many Slopers panicked when the tell-tale white paint was slathered all over the windows, and workers, not cooks, were seen scurrying to and fro. But there’s no cause for alarm.

“We will be back!” said Steve, an employee with the restaurant, which has been at the corner of Fourth Street for decades.

The work should take about a month, he added, heartening all who love moussaka, classic diner coffee, and the restaurant’s 14 omelets named after Aegean islands (try the Crete — with lox, onion and spinach).
