If you’re hungry for a taste of “Mockingjay,” head over to Prospect Park on Wednesday.
The next installment of Borough President Adams’s “A Summer Movie Under the Stars” series in Brooklyn’s backyard will screen the third film of the “Hunger Games” franchise, “Mockingjay Part 1,” on Aug. 5.
The series kicked off on July 22 with beloved Steven Speilberg classic “E.T. the Extra Terrestrial,” and “Where the Wild Things Are,” based on the classic children’s book by Brooklyn writer, Maurice Sendak, on July 29.
“I am excited to see Brooklynites both young and young at heart kick back and relax,” said Adams. “You can’t beat sitting with family and friends on a picnic blanket in the park to enjoy a cool flick on a warm summer evening in Brooklyn.”
The outdoor screenings wind up Aug. 12 with the animated, penguin-themed musical “Happy Feet.”
All showings begin at 7 pm in the Long Meadow section of the park.
The Aug. 5 screening may be just the thing to tide over Katniss fans until the final film, “Mockingjay Part 2,” premiers on Nov. 20.
