Someone once said, “A bad manner spoils everything, even reason and justice.”
It seems that reason, justice and the truth are spoiled every time we see Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee on the tube. There she was again, on another cable news show the other night, rambling on and on without taking a breath, shouting over the other talking heads, and not allowing anyone to state another side of the debate. If you’re one of the few that don’t remember her, she’s the discourteousrepresentative from Texas who took a cell call last year while one of her constituents was at the microphone asking a question.Oh, yes. We heard all of her lame excuses about multi-tasking and who she claimed called her. I didn’t believe her. Very few did.She compounded her arrogance the next day when she appeared on Greta Van Sustern’s show talking endlessly without letting her host get a word in. Still not sure who she is? Open your dictionary. You’ll see her photographs next to the words RUDE, DISCOURTEOUS and IMPOLITE.
And you STILL don’t know who she is? OK, one more. She’s the Congresswoman who was very upset a few years ago because there were no African-American names chosen for hurricanes. I have absolutely no problem with Hurricane Latisha but I do have a problem with Ms. Lee.

Twelve days after the underwear bomber attempted to blow up an airplane over Detroit, the State department revoked his visa. What’s the rush? He’s not going anywhere?

Based on recent polls we hear that Harry Reid, who is up for re-election, is in very serious trouble and may not keep his seat. Likewise for Chris Dodd who, knowing he is no longer electable, has announced that he will not seek reelection. Don’t feel one bit sorry for either of them. Political parties on both sides take care of their own. Within three months of their losses each will become head of some government department, or have a well paying position on a college or corporate board somewhere, or be sworn in as a judge. They’ll still be well paid workers with terrific pensions and the best health care plan on earth while 10% of this country is standing on the unemployment line

Early in the morning, exactly ten days ago, NOAA announced that last month was the fourteenth coldest December in 115 years. Within two hours millions of Emails with this breaking news raced back and forth across the country. The message from the great majority of them finished with – “Tell me again about global warming.”
The following are headlines from Newspaper stories I read on the same day two weeks ago:
U.S. FACES RECORD COLD WEATHER
COLD, COLD, COLDER
NEXT COLD BLAST MORE BRUTAL
B-B-B-BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE
BEIJING COLDEST IN 40 YEARS
WORLD COPES WITH ARCTICWEATHER
COLD SNAP IN FLORIDA KEEPS BEACHES EMPTY
PERU’S MOUNTAIN PEOPLE FACE EXTINCTION BECAUSE OF COLD
IOWA 30 DEGREES BELOW RECORD
VERMONT SNOWSTORM RECORD SET
And there are a lot more. I catch cold just reading them. Doesn’t this sound like those stories we heard some years ago when we were being warned about the coming of another ice age? I am [email protected] asking Al Gore to %u2013 “Tell me again about global warming.”
