The sounds of the season rang joyfully at Intermediate School 14 as festivities kicked off a week early at the school, 2424 Batchelder Street, with a medley of music, dance and singing during their holiday showcase.
With the assistance of Mr. Loubnine, Ms. Elfond, Ms. Engelsberg and a mixed bag of other staff members, IS 14 students presented a fun-filled performance for all to enjoy.
The celebration took place amid an illuminated winter wonderland, including a larger than life fireplace, which flashed perpetual images of multi-cultural holiday celebrations.
As the school community joined together in musical numbers such as “La Fiesta,” “Lotsa Latkes,” “Kwanza Celebration,” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” parents, community members, and visiting schools clapped, sang, and beamed with delight, demonstrating the strong sense of community that resonates throughout IS 14 all year long.
This production was performed over a three-day period, including one very special evening, complete with a visit from Santa Claus, who gave out gifts to lucky audience members.
Principal Anne Tully thanks all of the teachers and staff members who made this gala production possible and especially to the students who danced and sang their way into everyone’s hearts during this holiday season.
