Not so ice
Winter took its toll on a Warren Street man who was attacked on Dec. 21 by two perps wielding nothing more than a sharp piece of ice.
The man told cops that he was at the corner of Flatbush Avenue and Pacific Street at around 7:55 pm, en route to the Brooklyn Academy of Music, when two men approached and brandished the ice.
Without saying anything, the men bashed their victim about the face, causing lacerations before fleeing.
Gun mug
A Montgomery Place man was mugged for his laptop at gunpoint in front of his home on Dec. 22.
The 28-year-old told police that he was in front of the building, which is on the one-block street between Eighth Avenue and Prospect Park West, at about 11 pm when a man approached, pulled out a silver handgun and said, “Give me your wallet — and give me the laptop.”
The victim handed over the computer and his cashless wallet, and the thug fled.
Senior mugged
A woman was brutally mugged on Dec. 26 a block from Prospect Park.
Cops say that the thief approached his 62-year-old victim from behind at around 8 am at the corner of First Street and Eighth Avenue, covering her mouth and telling her, “Be quiet. I’m not going to hurt you.”
But he did just that, shoving her to the ground roughly before taking her iPod, wallet, cellphone and Metrocard. He then fled into the park.
Two burgs
At least two buildings were burgled last week:
• A thief sneaked into a St. Marks Place apartment on Dec. 23, stealing a computer and video game players. The break-in occurred between 9 am and 7 pm in the building between Fourth and Fifth avenues, cops said.
• A thief walked into a building on Seventh Avenue, but left on wheels after stealing a gas-powered scooter from the lobby on Dec. 26. The scooter’s owner told cops that the thief must have gotten into the lobby of the building, which is between 14th and 15th streets, at around 4:30 pm.
The scooter had an estimated value of $1,300. A witness described the thief as a 6-foot-1, 180-pound man with two differently colored eyes and a sandy-colored pony tail.
Spa bummer
A thief sneaked into a Fifth Avenue day spa and stole a worker’s handbag from behind the front counter on Dec. 28.
Cameras captured the perp as he entered the store, which is between Douglass and Degraw streets, at around 9 am, scurried behind the desk and removed the bag, which contained $50, a purse and a phone.
Oak poke
A thief grabbed a woman’s purse and her Christmas presents when she briefly turned her back on them in a Union Street bar early on Dec. 20.
The woman told cops that she was in the Royal Oak bar, which is between Third and Fourth avenues, at around 2 am. At some point, she turned around to notice that her bags were gone — and with them, her phone, credit cards and holiday presents that included jewelry and gift cards.
Gas and gun
A pistol-packing perp held up a Third Avenue gas station attendant on Dec. 24, getting away with $2,000.
The worker told cops that he was on duty inside the station just two hours before Christmas Day began when a 5-foot-9, 170-pound man walked up, pulled out a gun and demanded cash.
He got what he wanted and fled.
Auto be a law
At least three cars were broken into last week:
• Sometime between 8 pm on Christmas Day and 8:15 the next morning, a thief broke into a 2002 Chevy and stole a wallet with $400. The car had been parked on 12th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues.
• A thief busted into a 2007 Acura that had been parked on 14th Street near Prospect Park West on Dec. 26 at 10 pm. When the owner returned to it just three hours later — after catching a movie at the Pavilion — she discovered a smashed window and her purse missing. Movie night was ruined.
• Diamond jewelry and a laptop was swiped from a 1995 Saab that had been parked on 11th Street near Third Avenue at around 2 am on Dec. 27. The owner told cops that when she returned to the car eight hours later, the window was smashed and her Mac Book, iPod and a matching diamond necklace and earrings were gone.
In all, she told cops she lost nearly $8,000 in booty.
