It is getting ugly! Cycones drop fourth straight

Staten Island 5
Cyclones 2

July 2 at Staten Island

Evil Empire sire Yeicok Calderon hit a three-run homer in the opening inning and our beloved Cyclones could never recover, losing 5–2 on the Rock.

The hated rivals added two more before the seventh, to put the game away.

The Cyclones did make it interesting in the ninth . Down 5–2, L.J. “Mini-Maz” Mazzilli loaded the bases on a walk, but Jared King flew out to left field to end the game.

The loss is the Clones’ fourth straight and the seventh in the last eight games. The team sits in the basement of the McNamara division with a 5–10 record, four-and-a-half games behind Hudson Valley. The boys will try to record their first win of the season over their despised rivals tonight at MCU Park.

Brooklyn Cyclones at MCU Park (Surf Avenue and W. 16th Street in Coney Island, www.brooklyncyclones.com) on July 3 at 7 pm.
