If you already thought the city was an urban jungle, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
In “The Treehouse,” a large-scale photography exhibition by Robert Holden, 25 nature scenes are scattered throughout DUMBO in a way that’s sure to cause more than a few cases of whiplash to the observant pedestrian.
Blanketed on scaffolding, windows and walls, the larger-than-life photographs depict scenes of a happy, comely couple living in trees, holding hands on the beach, and cuddling up with a dog.
It’s all in an effort to connect with nature, says the artist.
“There are people who are able to be in harmony with themselves … and with nature,” said Holden. “People who choose to live differently and manage to find fulfillment by carrying an existence where their highest values are not monetizable. I want to share a bit of that.”
Photographs can be found along Water Street between Dock and Main streets, on Main Street from Front to Plymouth streets, at Front and Dock streets and at Washington and Water streets. Though half the fun, of course, is finding them yourself.
