Sharpen those pencils and get ready to hit the books — school is back in session!
Thousands of Brooklyn children said goodbye to summer and hello to the new school year with decidedly mixed feelings as they filed into classrooms across the borough on Monday morning.
Some kids were eager to meet their new teachers and greet old friends, while other youngsters needed reassuring words from their parents to work up the courage to walk through the door and begin this new chapter.
