Wallet snatches
At least three pickpockets plied their pernicious trade in the runup to Christmas last week:
• A thief stole a wallet from a woman inside a store on Atlantic Avenue between Court and Clinton streets at around 4 pm on Dec. 3.
• A crook swiped a man’s wallet on a Downtown-bound B61 bus on Dec. 2. The victim remembered being bumped while he was on the bus at 4 pm and later noticed that his wallet was missing.
• A thief stole a woman’s purse inside of a store on Fulton Street at Flatbush Avenue Extension at 5:05 pm on Dec. 8.
Going postal
Three men were arrested outside the main post office on Cadman Plaza after buying nearly $2,000 in postal money orders with a stolen credit card on Dec. 9, cops said.
Police said that postal workers confronted the alleged thieves after they’d made the purchase in the fancy branch at Tillary Street at 7:05 pm. There was a brief skirmish, but the men were arrested, and the money orders were recovered, police said.
Graffiti bust
Cops arrested an alleged graffiti vandal inside of a Columbia Heights home on Dec. 8.
The homeowner said he saw the crook enter the basement of his building between Clark and Pierrepont streets at 12:20 pm, and immediately notified the police.
Half an hour later, cops went into the basement and arrested their man.
Verizon vandal
A thief stole a laptop from a Verizon truck on Myrtle Avenue on Dec. 9.
The truck driver said that he parked the vehicle near Prince Street at 9:45 am and returned three hours later to find the computer missing.
Vicious beating
Five thugs broke a man’s jaw in a vicious beat-down on Wyckoff Street on Dec. 10.
The victim was near Hoyt Street at 5:50 pm when the men punched him in the face and then kicked him several times before stealing his wallet and fleeing.
The man was treated at Lutheran Medical Center.
Subway chase
An alleged cellphone thief was busted on Dec. 10 after he was chased down inside of the subway.
A straphanger told police that she was waiting for a Manhattan-bound N train at Pacific Street at 6:15 pm when the man grabbed her iPhone and fled.
The victim ran after the thief, who hopped a Coney Island-bound train. Cops said they caught their man at Union Street, one station away, still in possession of the phone’s headset.
Pacifi-no
A thief broke into a Smith Street bar on Dec. 5 but left empty-handed.
The crook smashed a window at Pacifico, which is at Pacific Street, at 2:15 am — startling a worker, but fleeing without any cash.
