What’s better than watching a movie with a bunch of friends and popcorn? Watching a movie with a bunch of friends and pizza in the garden of a great restaurant.
That’s what restaurateur Marco Chirico was thinking when he started a movie series at his Enoteca on Court.
The first series featured movies all about wine and included pairings based on the vintages being consumed on film.
The screenings were such a success that Marco and his father, the legendary Joe Chirico, set up a second round, starting on Aug. 16, that will feature Italian classics like “Divorce Italian Style” and “La Dolce Vita”; newer greats like “Johnny Stecchino,” a comedy starring Roberto Benigni; plus Marco Chirico’s favorite, “Cinema Paradiso” from 1989.
“It’s like in Italy,” said Joe Chirico, who owns Marco Polo restaurant next door to his son’s joint. “We watch movies outside in the gardens, and we drink the wine.”
