A goon swiped a woman’s purse and sprayed pepper spray in her eyes on Coyle Street on March 21, police said.
The woman told police she was walking home near Avenue X at about 7:30 pm when the criminal came up to her and said he needed a MetroCard and directions. But the woman told him she didn’t have a card and he grabbed her purse from her shoulder and sprayed her in the eyes, according to authorities.
The jerk took her bag containing cash, credit cards, a New York State identification card, and her house keys, and fled on Coyle Street, officials said.
Caught him
Cops cuffed a guy who threatened to knife an employee at an Avenue X grocery store on March 21.
The worker told police the suspect came into the store near E. 29th Street at about 10 am and pulled out a knife, started waving it, and said, “If you don’t give me money and cigarettes, I will stab you.”
Police came and arrested the suspect, who resisted arrest and started kicking items off the shelf in the store, breaking about $100 worth of stuff, according to authorities.
Big haul
A scoundrel smashed a window to break into a woman’s E. Ninth Street home and stole thousands in assorted antique silver and jewelry on March 21, police said.
The woman told police the malefactor broke the rear window of her home near Avenue U and rummaged through her drawers sometime between 1 pm and 3 pm, officials said. The crook stole about $12,550 worth of antique silver and jewelry, police said.
The baddie left behind one glove in her kid’s bedroom and a can of soda, according to authorities.
Jewel thieves
A criminal broke into a woman’s home on Voorhies Avenue and stole thousands in jewelry on March 23, police said.
The woman told police the jerk broke in through the front door of the house near E. 21st Street while no one was home between 7:30 am and 3 pm and swiped an Italian gold necklace, gold chain crosses, gold rings, a Tiffany silver bracelet, and a gold chain with a ruby pendant, according to authorities.
Lost luggage
A jerk stole a guy’s jewelry and luggage from his Coney Island Avenue apartment sometime between March 13 and March 21, police said.
The guy told police he had just moved into his pad near Avenue V on March 13 and when he returned about a week later, realized the nogoodnik had stolen his gold and ruby ring, silver broach, and luggage, according to authorities.
The victim says there was no forced entry and his landlord has a key, police said.
Not the gaming system!
A malefactor pried open a door into a guy’s apartment on Ocean Parkway and stole his jewelry and electronics sometime between March 24 and March 26, police said.
The guy told police the rogue broke in through the side door of his place near Avenue U, causing damage, and stole an Xbox, engagement ring, bangles, and gold necklace, according to authorities.
