Easter menace
A 41-year-old woman spent Easter Week “rebuking” and attacking a pregnant woman on East 84th Street, cops said.
Desiree Jamerson was charged with assault in the third degree and menacing following the April 1 confrontation between Flatlands Avenue and Glenwood Road.
The victim, who is seven months pregnant, said that she was on the street at 9:05 pm when Jamerson approached and began threatening her.
“You and your baby are going to die,” she said. “I rebuke you in the name of Jesus.”
She then threw an empty garbage pail at the woman, hitting her in the stomach.
Police said that the victim was rushed to an area hospital suffering from cramps. Jamerson was taken into custody without incident.
Boozing on Glenwood
A 51-year-old man was apprehended on drunk driving charges after he smashed his 1995 Mercedes Benz into another car on April 1.
Police said that John Rhem told police that he owned the now damaged luxury car following the accident on Glenwood Road and East 105th Street.
But while he owned the vehicle — there was no way he should have been driving. Police said that Rhem scored a .280 percent on a Breathalyzer exam — well over the legal limit.
Cops charged Rhem with operating a motor vehicle under the influence and aggravated driving.
Passover pry-guys wanted
Cops are investigating an attempted break-in at a Schenectady Avenue yeshiva as Jews across the borough marked the Passover holiday.
Investigators were told that someone tried to pry open a side window to the Tiferes Academy near Flatlands Avenue sometime before the damage was discovered on April 1.
Whoever broke in was unsuccessful in his endeavor and ended up taking nothing, police said.
Home invasion
A 20-year-old woman was forced into her Flatlands home and robbed Thursday.
Police said that the frightening scene ended on a good note — cops caught the 26-year-old thug responsible for grabbing the woman as she entered her East 48th Street address between avenues L and M at 11:15 am
Police said that the thief, who was not named, forced his victim into the home and then fled with an assortment of electronics.
He was arrested as he tried to leave the area, officials said.
Old Mill Basin beat down
A 22-year-old was punched in the face and robbed as he walked through Old Mill Basin April 2.
Cops said that the victim was nearing the corner of Avenue N and Utica Avenue at 7:40 pm when the unidentified suspect attacked.
The thug ran off with the victim’s cell phone after giving the man a face full of knuckles, said officials, who were still looking for the thief as this paper went to press.
Unwanted guests
Two East 86th Street residents were scared out of their socks Thursday when they were surprised by a pair of burglars.
The two said that they were inside the home on the night of March 25 when the suspects entered their apartment after looting the upstairs apartment.
But the thieves were as surprised as their victims and ran out the door at the earliest opportunity, fleeing with an X-Box and several DVDs.
Focus on E. 55th
East 55th Street between Avenues J and K became a happy hunting ground for a thief with a jewelry addiction.
Police said that two homes on the block were both raided on March 26 right around the same time.
In the first instance, someone broke into a home through a back door and made off with some jewelry.
A short time later, the second home was burglarized, although police do not know just how the thief got inside. An assortment of jewelry was also taken from the second home, they said.
