Donald Trump is a big mouth — but a big mouth that speaks to the issues.
Yes, he gets loads of attention, like his latest gaffe aimed at Senator John McCain. Hero, no hero — I don’t know if I share his sentiments, but Donald is right about one thing: veterans in this country are not treated fairly.
His derogatory statements on the Mexican population in this country were crude and uncalled for. But you can’t deny that a huge problem exists here with the flood of undocumented individuals sneaking past the borders.
So where do the other Republican contenders stand on immigration? And what, if any, are their plans to correct the situation? Don’t know, because no one will touch the topic with a ten foot fence.
No matter what your opinion is of him, you have to hand it the Donald — he brings many things to the surface that other politicians only think about but never say out loud.
While the Donald is causing havoc, the others throwing their hats into the ring are spending their time attacking Trump — and each other — instead of attacking issues. It’s just the same old, same old, politics as usual.
Maybe it is time for a change.
On the up-side, the Donald has his own money so he won’t be pandering to every Tom, Dick, and Harry who helped fund his campaign if he moves into the White House. The other nominees will have lots of deep pockets to pay back.
Trump runs a multi-billion-dollar corporation, so he knows a thing or two about money — how to make it, and more importantly, how to keep it. And he doesn’t have a problem with cutting dead wood from the tree.
The rest of the pack only knows how to spend the public’s money, not how to earn it or keep it.
So here we go:
Trump knows money — Washington has a problem with balancing the budget, and has for quite some time, leaving the coffers hovering near empty. Washington only slaps its offenders on the wrist and gives a public censure — like Nancy Pelosi did with Charlie Rangel — but the Donald can fire at will.
Not for Nuthin™, will a member of the good old boys club get the nomination? If so, will the Donald run as an independent? Does he have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning? Will he prove to be the spoiler like Ross Perot way back when in the bad old nineties? And what will he do with that his famous, fantastic comb-over? Stay tuned to this page — the convention is only twelve months away.
