Jog your memory: On Marathon day, avoid the V-Z, 4th Ave

Runners aren’t the only ones dreading this weekend’s New York City Marathon.

The 26-mile race requires major closures on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and Fourth Avenue this Sunday, Nov. 4. Plan accordingly:

• On race day, the entire bridge is closed for most of the morning: Brooklyn-bound lanes will be closed from 8 am to 1 pm, while Staten Island–bound lanes will be closed from 7 am to 2 pm.

• The city will close the Staten Island–bound expressway approach to the bridge starting at 6:45 am to allow bridge-bound traffic to clear.

• Along Fourth Avenue, closings will begin at 7:45 am. The Bay Ridge end will reopen at approximately 12:20 pm, while the Park Slope end will reopen at approximately 1:20 pm.
