Another abduction!
A pair of gun-toting perps kidnapped a North Brooklynite and withdrew cash from his bank account in a horrifying May 22 mugging.
In an abduction that closely mirrors a similar hold-up last week, a robber armed with a semi-automatic pistol pushed the victim into the backseat of a car near Kent Avenue and North Ninth Street at around 10:30 pm.
Once the victim was inside the vehicle — a white four-door sedan with tinted windows — the gunman covered the victim’s eyes, forced him to lay face down, and snatched cash, Metrocards, cellphone and debit cards from the captive’s pockets.
Then the crook demanded the victim’s ATM code.
As soon as the victim gave up his PIN number, an accomplice drove the car to a Broadway bank and withdrew $222.75 from the victim’s account.
Half an hour after the terrifying kidnapping began, the perps kicked the victim out of the car at South 11th Street between Berry Street and Wythe Avenue.
“Here’s $5 for a cab if you need it,” said the thug with the gun, who ordered the victim stay to on South 11th Street for 20 minutes after the mugging.
But the victim immediately fled to Bedford Avenue, where he flagged down a police car and reported the incident.
Construction malfunction
Crooks broke into two unfinished condo buildings last week and heisted stoves, oven hoods, and other equipment.
The thieves broke a rear window to get into a yet-to-be completed building on North 11th Street between Roebling Street and Driggs Avenue and stole kitchen fixtures between May 14 and May 19.
Burglars also snatched meters and other machinery from an uncompleted building at the corner of Roebling and North Eighth streets between May 15 and May 19.
Bag snatch
A thief snatched a 27-year-old’s purse while she dined at a Bedford Avenue pan-Asian restaurant on May 23.
The crook grabbed the bag, which was hanging from the back of the victim’s chair while she supped at Red Bowl, which is between North Fifth and North Sixth streets. The thief escaped from the restaurant between 11:45 pm and 12:15 am with the victim’s camera, iPhone, credit cards and cash.
Lights, camera, infraction!
Crooks broke into a Dupont Street movie studio and heisted thousands of dollars of equipment on May 19.
The thieves got into Cinema World Studios, between 5:30 pm and 9 am the following morning. Once inside the facility, which is between Provost Street and McGuinness Boulevard, the burglars snatched cameras, lenses, batteries and other equipment.
Employees at the studio saw two strangers enter and claim they were part of the “production crew.”
