They’ve got that warm and fuzzy feeling!

Students tried on colorful new coats during a winter-jacket giveaway at PS 297 in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Dec. 15.

Public Advocate Letitia James and Councilman Robert Cornegy (D–Bedford-Stuyvesant) were on hand, pointing out that it is crucial all youngsters keep their bodies and noggins toasty as temperatures drop so they can do their best learning in the classroom.

“No child should be without a warm coat during the winter months,” said James. “Too many families struggle to make ends meet and ensure that growing children have jackets that fit, which is why coat drives are so important.”

The pair of pols handed out dozens of pink, purple, orange, and blue winter coats to the bright-eyed pupils, who got to take their cozy jackets home and learned a valuable holiday lesson.

“At this time of year it is important that we embrace the spirit of giving to ensure all New Yorkers know they are a special part of our community,” said Cornegy.
